Both scale to your own frame, which is the point — a 6'4" person and a 5'6" person do not have the same balanced chest measurement. No scores, no colour-coded verdicts. It is also honest about what these are: aesthetic conventions fitted to a handful of male competitors seventy years ago, with no health meaning whatsoever. Where these numbers come from
These are aesthetic conventions from mid-20th-century bodybuilding, not health targets. John McCallum published his wrist-based formulas in the 1960s; Steve Reeves' proportions come from his own competitive career in the 1940s and 50s. Both were fitted to a small number of male competitors in a subculture with very particular ideas about what a body should look like.
They tell you nothing about your health, your fitness, your strength or your worth. There is no medical basis for any of these ratios, and no study behind them. What they are genuinely useful for is the one idea underneath them: proportions that look balanced scale with your skeleton, so a target that ignores your frame size is useless. Treat the numbers as a proportional guide if that interests you, and ignore them entirely if it doesn't.
Both formula sets were derived from male competitors. There is no established female counterpart, and inventing one here would be making something up — so this tool doesn't.
